The Pontiac Wagon Train is an non profit group organized to preserve and participate in recreating a 5 day Wagon Train in the Pioneer Style. It is intended for recreational purposes and the bringing together of people who love the blend of riding, and driving horses as well as for the enjoyment of the general public. The Wagon Train was first established in 2000 and traveled from Aylmer Quebec to Shawville Quebec.
We set up a base camp in the selected location with the Wagon Train departing each morning from the base camp and returning back to the base each afternoon. The typical days ride ranges from 15 to 25 kilometers with a lunch stop. The terrain varies from paved and gravel roads to bush trails. The ride is intended to be a tranquil and enjoyable adventure for all.
Our Base Camp encourages new friendships and renews old ones in a relaxed and horse family atmosphere.
